life's curve balls

I'm a baseball fan.
Love the game, watching playing, all of it.
Sometimes its lazy and slow moving.. sometimes fast paced moving from top of the inning onto the next inning. Watching the players move around the field he catcher communicating with the pitcher in their own way... and the base coaches letting their players know whats next. All the while the game is being watched.

I miss being able to work extra shifts or hours.. I miss working on the floor and helping my little old ladies and little old men get out of their chair in to bed or on a couch off he floor if he had fallen. I miss standing with out feeling unsteady. I miss sitting up and getting up out of bed at a regular speed.
I miss having energy at the ed of the day.

Life throws curve balls at us. Like the game of baseball we may not know all that's going on while we are at bat, but out family and friends are our team. They should be there to help and root us on. I have a awesome team. and I'm grateful for that.

on a crocheting note my sister says shes getting me some yummy yarn. usual stipulations... I have to use the majority of it for me not anyone else.  Ill make plans of what to use it on once I see it.

ok its been a log time.... but..I got a reason

Its been a long time and there's a lot of reasons for this
First I switched from days to night shift then back to days.
My kiddo growing up too fast.
I got divorced... Its ok. I had enough and It was my choice. ( proceedings went 9 months)
Transferred job locations. ( a few months after I filed )
Found an awesome Man with a great kid.
I moved
My step mother passed away ( may his year)
Kiddos both are in music programs
and after all that this year  I got really really sick and I still have symptoms tho we don't know whats wrong with me..

It has been a very busy time.  a lot of changes but good changes recently though many are painful.

My step mother and my own mother taught me how to crochet.
My step mother taught me as a way to relieve stress when I was a caregiver for my other family member who had Alzheimer's disease. It gave me a way to be creative and also make pretty things from yarn.

I will be forever grateful to her for that..and her making dad happy. She was a kick in the pants.

Its hard to loose someone you love but shes not in pain anymore.
I will be forever grateful to her for so many things.

Wow its been too long.

I have been super busy. with all those holidays, all the custom orders ( very happy customers!).
Craft fairs, kid school events and life happenings I have hardly had time to turn around.
I have been working on pieces and then they sell.

I have a current piece I love working on. Its Bamboo and silk. in a cream color. Most anyone who touches it falls inlove with it.

I will also be making more shalws for the fair in December. I have a cup cozy and wash cloths to add to my shop a hat and a few other things.  All of which will be posted very soon.
I just need to make time for it.

the set is done.

The custom set I was asked to do is done.
I hope that the little girl I made them for likes them.
I enjoyed working on them.
I also had a nice sale today as well.
Both orders should ship tomorrow am :)
Im a very happy camper right now.. as this gives me an excuse for more yarn.

Gloves are a challenge

they are tricky.
I started them like I would mittens and created finger holes..
then I adjust the sizing as I go.
I work them inside out so they dont seem as messy with seaming as they would other wise.

when I'm done with this I have two hats and a arm brace cover to do plus other pieces for this winter to make..
some day I wish I had more hands.

too many options such little time

I have so many options of things to make as a hooker.

I could make more scarves,

or make some shawls

OR I could make mittens and fingerless gloves.

Hats as an old stand by

But instead I'm trying to figure out how to tweek a pattern for a very very special order.
a customer has requested I make some gloves with matching scarf and hat for her niece. They are not just any gloves they are for hypoplastic thumbs.    I'm waiting on the measurements and pictures and color so I can proceed.  This little girl will have her very own pair of custom gloves. I know they are tricky BUT I know they are well worth the time and energy.

So IF I don't seem to be posting as much this is why- it can be very tricky to change a hooker pattern but even trickier to adjust for this.

a new piece

I have been working on this a while on and off. Mostly because of time constraints and the yarn was on huge cones.. Litterally huge cones. Each weigh at least 4 lbs each.
The yarn is light weight so I needed to combine it together some how and the two colors worked well. one has blues and purples in it the other is a light lavender tone.
I love how it turned out.
Its light and has a little weight to it.

Now to figure out what to do with the rest of the yarn.
